Sketchbooks exploring automatic drawing, a process whereby the artist attempts to bypass all conscious thoughts to produce pure impulsive marks on the page direct from the subconscious. This was attempted in many different ways from trying to distract the conscious mind while drawing to drawing whilst in a meditative state.
